After 3 sweltering summer months (Aug.—Oct.) we finally made it off the dock last weekend. Enjoying some wonderful cool "Fall" weather, we cruised out to New Pass, a favorite anchoring spot, where we would meet up with Corey's friend, Sam who was being dropped off by car by his parents. We … [Read more...]
New Pass bridge is part of the Bonita Beach causeway connecting barrier islands of Estero Bay, Fort Myers Beach and Bonita Springs. The pass is just south of Big Carlos Pass and Fort Myers Beach on the Gulf of Mexico. From Fort Myers Beach it's just under 1.5 hour cruise and a great anchorage for the weekend. With plenty to do like dinghying to the beach, kayaking and fishing, it's one of our close-to-home anchorages.
Below you will find all the blog posts that we've tagged as 'New Pass.'
Last week we had my sister, Tracy, and nephews, Jack & Ryan, aboard for spring break. Since the kids were all out of school for a full week, our original plan was to head to the Keys and anchor out near Key West to do some spear fishing and kayaking and then head into Key West for the weekend … [Read more...]

Needless to say I … [Read more...]

This year, however, we had neighbors in the … [Read more...]
Last weekend we finally made it off the dock. This was our first trip since returning home from our Dry Tortugas and Keys trip in July. I had foot surgery in August which kind of kept us land locked for the summer, so we were psyched to finally untie the lines and head out for the weekend. It … [Read more...]
After leaving Jewfish Basin on Wednesday morning, we headed north where we planned to anchor at Cape Romano. It was a long day of cruising that was mostly uneventful until we ran into a storm just south of Cape Romano. We buttoned everything up on the bridge and the boys came down and drove Blue … [Read more...]
With the wedding festivities over, it was time to focus on our trip. On Sunday, we said few goodbyes and did last minute prepping for the trip—running to Publix for groceries, loading provisions and gear onto the boat, etc. We left Snook Bight around 3:30-4pm and headed to New Pass to anchor and … [Read more...]
Since Corey had Spring Break last week, we decided to take a trip down to Keewaydin Island, one of our favorite anchorages. When we left on Friday morning we weren't sure how long we'd stay so we prepared to be gone for a week. Our dinghy motor was in the shop so we took the kayaks along as the … [Read more...]
